Some Notes on the 4th of July, 2023
The 4th of July is about golden yellow and white speckled corn on the cob—hot, fresh, with butter and salt. These are the heady days of summer: starlit skies, the potent smell of fireworks going off at the neighbor’s house, long lazy evenings.
